Alex Rider vs. Scorpia

The ending of this story is very action packed and makes the book very difficult to put down. Towards the middle of the story, Alex decides to join Scorpia because he thought he had been betrayed by MI6. Further into the story, Alex finds out the truth that Julia Rothman had lied to him and that he made a mistake to turn his back on MI6. Alex decides to take down Scorpia and Julia and make amends with his old friends.

Alex finds Rothman and has his final battle with her. The final fight takes place on a hot air balloon and is very intense. Alex ends up unintentionally crushing Julia with a piece of her equipment she was going to use on her victims. Killing the leader of Scorpia paints a huge target on the back of Alex's head so he returns to MI6 to apologize for believing the lies Scorpia told him.

After he talks with Ms. Jones and Mr. Blunt, his other boss, Alex leaves the MI6 headquarters feeling great to be back in the action. But as he is leaving the building, a Scorpia assassin shoots Alex in the chest, and the book ends.

Review

This is by far the greatest ending to a book I have ever read. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time this book was in my hands. The cliffhanger, the action, the suspense, the character development, everything about this book is perfect! By far one of my favorite stories of all time and I definitely recommend reading this book and the entire series.
