Who is This Guy?

Smithers, Thats who! Smithers is a very minor character in this story but also one of my favorite. Smithers runs the gadget headquarters and supplies all the spies with the newest equipment to help them on their missions. Alex gets to know Smithers very well and also collects some gadgets from him. Since Alex is a teenager, he cannot carry a gun, so he uses a library book with a dart in the spine that shoots when you press a button on the inside! Extra, Extra!

Smithers is a very intelligent creator who is looked down upon at MI6. Mr. Blunt and Ms. Jones never want to use his creations because they think realistic gadgets are a waste of time. But Alex is saved dozens of times by Smithers creations.

Alan Blunt: We could send Crawley back out, perhaps. Or Gerrard. Tulip Jones: I was thinking of Smithers... Alan Blunt: An interesting choice. Tulip Jones: Alex trusts him. And he may come in handy, particularly if Scorpia shows up.
